After its introduction in 1992, Rapido has been constantly innovated. In 2006 the "Evoluzione" model was successfully launched, proving to be the right solution for diversified production needs, particularly in the automotive and aerospace sectors.

Today the real challenge for laser machines manufacturers is to combine productivity with efficiency and eco-friendliness. RAPIDO Evoluzione2, the latest generation of this tried-and-tested machine, is the key to these modern needs.

Fiber or CO₂ laser: the right source for every application

The new generation of RAPIDO can be equipped with fiber or CO₂ laser source, according to the type of production. 

The high brilliance fiber laser with high energy efficiency, eco-compatible use and no maintenance gives the greatest benefits in case of large series production. Lower rates of power consumption and less spare parts contribute to the sustainability of the machine. Many applications can take advantage of this source, resulting in lower cycle times and reduced cost per part.

The CO₂ lasers by PRIMA Group feature top application flexibility, high reliability, low running costs, latest technology  (solid state HVPS, magnetic levitation turbine), and are particularly suitable for frequent changes of production.

Higher dynamics and increased stiffness

Another important innovation of the RAPIDO Evoluzione2 is the synthetic granite frame, featuring a special shape obtained through state-of-the-art topology optimization software. This solution grants excellent stiffness (+25% compared to previous model) and damping capacity, resulting in extreme smoothness of the machine axes movements, even at the highest dynamics.

Easy and smart use

RAPIDO Evoluzione2 is equipped with the new P30L numerical control by Prima Electro, with higher computational power, more powerful HMI and Windows® embedded. The new slim console is user-friendly and features a 17” touch screen, with trackball and retractable keyboard.

New advanced algorithms for predictive trajectory control and axes management contribute to the significant cycle time reduction allowed by RAPIDO.

Many new functions have been introduced in order to optimize production times and reduce the machine’s set-up operations. With features such as the graphic interface for part-program optimization, user-friendliness is even higher, as all editing is graphically performed and there is no need of G-Code modifications. Thanks to the Perfect Tool package, head calibrations and alignments are automatically performed.
